This solar and battery storage project delivers a comprehensive 1.76 MW DC / 1.38 MW AC photovoltaic energy system designed to serve a large campus environment. The installation includes 3,842 canopy-mounted PV panels positioned above existing parking lots, supported by 445 PV strings and 44 inverters to ensure stable and efficient power production. To enhance energy resiliency, the design incorporates a 12,662 kWhr battery energy storage system (BESS) paired with a 2,340 kW inverter, providing load shifting, backup capability, and improved operational flexibility.

Interconnection was completed at two locations within the campus’ 12.47 kV distribution system, requiring strategic coordination with the newly commissioned primary switchgear. This project demonstrates the successful integration of large-scale PV generation and advanced battery storage within a complex electrical infrastructure, delivering renewable power, improved reliability, and long-term energy cost savings for the campus.
